Snuggle Buddies

In our household we have two animals.

Danny (the 8 year old 1/2 persian sassy cat)

And.....

Chloe (the 8 month old adorably tenacious Boston Terrier)
These two do not mix well. Like water and oil. Chloe wants to love Danny in her own special way......but, unfortunately, the way she shows it is by standing on top of him. He doesn't find the appeal in this type of love. Just last night Chloe was chasing Danny all over the piano.....the music they made was the perfect soundtrack to their relationship. :-) But, this morning, just after I finished some delicious greek yogurt (you needed to know that, right?) I found this..........
They snuggled in a little bit of sunshine. Now whether this is their way of telling me that "it's so cold in this house you've made cats and dogs cuddle together for warmth" is up for debate. It IS a tad chilly in the house this morning. But, I'm not going to let that ruin this moment. I choose to believe that they chose this for companionship.

And LOOK even while I was writing this post....they did it again!!!!!!!!

Okay, OKAY.....I'll turn up the heat. :-)

A Marvelous Mess #7 Features!!!!

I just finished checking out all the links and you guys were just fantastic this week. I love seeing all those spring projects out there.....spring IS coming. *fingers crossed*
Here are some of my favorites from Marvelous Mess #7:

The Burlap and Button Rescue from Pumpkin Pie Painter
Look at all that fantastic detail. I absolutely adore this piece of art.

Haute Zipper Necklace by TinkerAnnieBell
It's just fantastic what she does with some zippers. I didn't even recognize them for what they were!!

Rag Quilt Purse from Frugal Ideas From the Parsonage
I think I might want to take a nap in that purse. :-)

and the project I am going to feature on my sidebar for a week..................

Marshmallow Cottontails from Rook No. 17
This recipe includes one of my most favorite Easter treats of all time.......Peeps!!!! I adore them. I used to have this shirt from Wallmart that said, "Where my Peep's at??!!" With a big peep on it. It still cracks me up just thinking about it. :-)
Thanks so much everyone for linking up to my party and I hope you'll come back next Monday!! IN the meantime, if you were featured, be sure to grab a button....you've earned it!!

Kids Craft: Fuzzy Bird

(Don't forget to link up to my Marvelous Mess party....I will be picking one project to feature onmy sidebar for a week!!)

It has been a while since I posted anything about the craft time that I host at my local library. Once a week, I volunteer to do a craft with preschool age kids (though in the summer the age varies....and so does the technicality of the projects!!). The library has a budget for me and everything. This week we made the bird you see above....with many great variations in style thanks to the creative minds of the kiddos.

Supply List:
Colored Styrofoam Eggs (found at A. C. Moore....on sale right now too. They come in a long tube.)
Tacky Glue
Yellow Felt
Feather Boa/ Feathers
Floral Wire
Googly Eyes
Pen

~Shape floral wire into little three-toed feet and stuff them into the underside of the eggs.
~Trim little diamond shapes out the yellow felt.
~Put a dot of glue in the middle of the egg where you want the beak to be and, using the pen, poke the yellow felt (in the middle of the diamond) into the hole.
~Put two dots of glue for the eyes and add those googlies.

~Trim pieces of feather boa for wings and tail feathers.
~Use the point of the pen to put them into place. If using regular feathers, pick ones with strong stems and poke them in.
*The little ribbon on the egg actually came on it that way....it also had a loop which I trimmed off*
You should have seen some of the kiddo's creations. I wish I had taken pictures, but I forgot my camera!! We had birds with mohawks and all other kinds of craziness. It was very cool.
You've got to try this craft for some little kiddos.....I made this one up in my head, but I have no doubt plenty of other crafters/teachers have tried something along these same lines. I was inspired with the foam eggs from Family Fun. If you like the eggs the little birdito is sitting on, check out my Wax Eggs post.
