Christmas Wood Blocks

Sooooo.........this is one of the things I have been so busy with over the past week. I've been making decorative wood blocks to sell at craft fairs. This image above it just one of many different versions I have been working on....and I am feeling pretty good about them. I'm glad that I have joined the ranks of the sheet music and burlap crafting clique's out there....that material is so fantabulous to work with and it makes everything so funky!!

On a frustrated note: I didn't end up doing the Craft Fair this past weekend. When I do finally get up the nerve to rent a table I want to make sure I can *fill* the table with all the goods I have....and I was feeling like I was a little low on products. So, this week my plan is to craft like the wind and hopefully be more prepared for the next time. Hopefully, it will be soon!!! I'm also thinking.......maybe Etsy shop?? Who knows.

Blogger Business Card

A couple of posts back I mentioned that I might be renting a craft table at the next big crafting show in town. I've been filling my kitchen/craft room from top to bottom with all my supplies and my cut and sanded 2x4's while I paint like the wind and hope that someone at the fair might show some interest in what I'm creating. All I can say is, somebody better.....or my family is going to be getting a lot of wooden blocks for Christmas. :-)Too bad I wasn't related to any beavers....
I digress.
I bring this up because there's something I'm missing in the business sense: Business Cards!! This looming craft fair has given me a big ole kick in the blogger butt. I'm going to need cards to spread the word. As luck would have it, I just got an email about a site called Vistaprint. They are currently offering FREE business cards (you only pay shipping). Unfortunately,  I won't get them in time for this craft show, but I'll have stocked my supplies for the next one. Wanna check out the site and get some for yourself so that YOU can be prepared??

Not only does Vistaprint offer free business cards they offer many more free products to make for a well rounded marketing program:
Free Website
Free logo design
Free Rubber Stamps
Free Pens
Free Bumper Stickers
Free Email Marketing

Vistaprint has quite a few design options for business cards. Some are flashy, some unique, some bold, and some are elegant.....but they each have one special something in common: they get your name out there and bring attention to your business. As a blogger you can take these cards with you to the craft shows, keep them in your pocketbook, hand them out when you're out on the town, or just happen to drop some of them on the floor in some prominent public place. :-) It's important for bloggers to treat our blog as a business.....because someday (maybe soon) it might just turn into one. Good luck!!

Paper Twist Pilgrim Man

If he could speak, I believe he'd say, "You made the TURKEY before you made me?!?!" And, it's true, I did. I have to admit, the Pilgrim man was last on my list of paper twist characters. I consider myself an equal opportunity crafter....but, in this case, the pilgrim woman and the turkey provided so much more "scope for the imagination" as Anne Shirley would say (I'm in the midst of an Anne of Green Gables marathon as we speak).
 Wanna see the Pilgrim Woman??

I have been so busy crafting recently. I made up my mind to try renting a table at the next local craft show (which happens to be this weekend!! Yikes!!). You'll see more of what I have been up to soon, I promise!! What have y'all been up to??
