Tumbledown Hike in Autumn

I was so tired yesterday when getting home from our Tumbledown hike that I decided not to share any pictures with you when I posted the Marvelous Mess party. Now that I've gotten some rest (though my legs are still totally sore!!) I thought I would show you some of my favorite photo's from the day.
The leaves on the mountain were peaked....and on the very summit they had already blown off all the tree's. I've been complaining a lot about the lack of color where I live in Maine, because we haven't been getting any frosts  to make the colors of the leaves bright. It's not the case in the mountains....they've had lots of frosts.
At the valley between the three peaks of Tumbledown mountain there is a beautiful alpine pond. Vvvvvvvveeeeerrrrryyyy chilllllly. But, that didn't stop Buddy from chasing sticks in the water.....there's no stopping a Lab.
He whined the whole time he swam in the water....but he wouldn't STOP. :-) It was really cold. That was what Buddy did near the peak....Chloe on the other hand....
Smart dog. She knew there was a whole mountain to climb back down.
On the way down, we stopped at a little swimming hole on Tumbledown stream. The light was perfect for photo's:

This was the perfect day for a hike on a mountain I've never climbed before. It was gorgeous!!
