Happy Dog Box: A Present for your Dog

Happy Dog Box is a company that will deliver a surprise box of doggies goodies for your pets. They even do it monthlyif you'd like, so you and your dogs can have something to look forward to. Each box has a changing variety of the latest and best in healthy toys, treats, and care products. When ordering, they ask about the size of your dog, so they can find the best and safest sizes of toys and treats. 

I was lucky enough to get a box for review and mine had:

Candy Cane Toy

 This box really did make for some Happy Dogs! They loved the all the different flavorful treats and had a great time with the squeaky candy cane. I'm a big fan of the Bath Spritz (even though my dogs cringe at the sound) because it helps freshen them up a bit....and it is good for dry, itchy skin.

I really think this idea of a monthly gift box for your doggies is so fun. It would also be a great present for a friend! 

Hong Bao Goldfish and Marvelous Mess

The Chinese Lantern festival represents the end of the New Year celebrations and, as you would guess, also involves a whole lot of lanterns!! I made a Lantern out of Hong Bao (the traditional red envelope for presents) paper and into the shape of a Goldfish:

I found the tutorial online with the help of YouTube. You should try it! Though, prepare yourself for a whole lot of pausing. Go HERE for the video.

He's a pretty cute little guy. If you want to buy Hong Bao paper, I found mine on Amazon. There is paper for New Year and paper packets for wedding presents....turns out I used the wedding type without knowing and this got a few laughs from my Chinese friends. 

Why are fish so prominent in Chinese culture, you might be wondering?

The word for fish:    鱼 yú 

Sounds like these words:

1. 裕 yù  abundant  (imagine many fish swimming)
   
2. 腴 yú  fertile; rich (fish have many offspring; a full net of fish = rich)
   
3. 煜 yù  brilliant; glorious (like shimmering scales)
   
4. 玉  yù  jade (because it’s brilliant)
   
5. 慾 yù  desire; wish (for some fish, or some jade)
   
6. 矞 yù  grand; elegant (getting further away from the original meaning, but someone wearing jade looks elegant)
   
7. 誉 yù  reputation 
   
8. 伃 yú  handsome
   

And the word for goldfish:  金鱼jīnyú   literally starts with the character for gold / money.

Here's my nice pair of well worn slippers from Nature's Sleep!

I got these shoes to review (and host a giveaway for a new pair) and I have to say, I am truly happy with the product! These slippers are incredibly soft and warm. They are well-made; I have worn them often since I received them a few months ago and they have held up very well with no sign of any issues! I love the firmness of the base and the covering over the toes because it helps to keep the shoe from falling off when walking. The best feature has got to be the memory foam in the padding.....can you see the imprint from my toes in the picture above? I had just taken them off. Sooooooo comfy.
