Paper Twist Santa

This fellow is following in the footsteps of the rest of my paper twist characters.  I figured if I could make Thanksgiving people, I could make some Christmas ones too. :-) What do you think??

I've made four altogether. Here are three of them in the Old World Santa style:

The fourth one, I will show you in another post. He's not in the mood for photo's. :-)
I'm going to try selling these at a craft fair this weekend. Here's hoping people are in the mood for a paper twist Santa!!

Pine Cone Garland For The Cabin

Guest post written by Samantha Wilkinson

I think that when I was growing up, we may have spent one Christmas at home but I don't really remember, to be honest. Our family has a cabin up in the mountains and we always go and spend the holidays there.
I really like to help decorate the cabin for all of the holidays with these really woodsy looking decorations that I’ve made and put together over the years. I was looking to make something to add to our holiday decorations for the cabin when I came across some Atlanta Clear 4G internet prices. After I read a little bit more about them and what the service entails, I decided to change over our internet service at home to the provider.
I saw some pine cone garland that was just so adorable that I knew it would fit in perfectly with all the decorations at the cabin. I even figured out how to put it together with some pine cones from our backyard. I had to guess at how much I would need for it, but I think it’s going to look great.

Rose Petal Christmas Tree

How about a white rose petal tree to go with the rest of your white themed Christmas decor?? This one was SO SIMPLE to do and very cheap. You just need to make a trip to the Dollar Store and get:
Stryofoam cone
Rose Petals (in the wedding section)
White Pom Pom
Hot Glue
~Take your styrofoam and start putting dots of hot glue around the base of it. Place a pointed part of the petal on each dot.
~Go around and around with the dots and the petals until you get to the top.
~Hot glue a white pom pom to the top.
Wicked easy, huh??
I like the result.
My tells me he husband likes this tree because it looks like a pile of scalloped potatoes.
Thanks, dude.
I shared this post at these funky linky parties!! Check 'em out!!:

Advent Calendar for My Kids

Guest post written by Angie Reese

I had never even known what an advent calendar until I got to college and saw one when I was out shopping with my friends. Once I realized that I got to eat a piece of candy every day from it, I bought one and have been buying one every year since then. But now that I have kids and want to share an advent calendar with them, I didn't want to give them any extra energy in the form of candy.
I decided that I would just make one that I could reuse every year from now on. I went online to look for some ideas or directions that I could use to make my own and while I was doing that I saw the website http://www.ClearWirelessInternetService.com. Then I changed over our internet service at home to it after I read through all of it.
I finally picked this one DIY advent calendar that I thought looked pretty easy to make. I'm going to put slips of paper with fun Christmas activities on them for my kids to do, which will keep them occupied for at least a little time each day.
