Vimbly: What To Do In A Big City!

This is a sponsored post for which I was compensated by Vimbly. All opinions are my own and written in my own words!

I've never been to the Big Apple.
Can you believe it?

There is a lot that is appealing to me about New York City. The culture, for one, is so varied and interesting and there are so many options! Plays, galleries, ethnic foods, music, Broadway... the choices are so overwhelming. Which is why, I am pleased to say, there is a site like Vimbly to help organize my time wisely in the big city!

Vimbly is a fast way to book classes and activities in some major big cities in the U.S.  These aren't just your regular classes; they are unique, some are combined, and they all look like so much fun. Look here:

$13 for a Hip Hop class? If it could improve by dancing ability I'd pay $100.

Look at how inexpensive these classes are!

I think Vimbly is fantastic. I love the idea of a site that helps organize all the fun activities going on.... I have found that when I visit a place I have to look all over for all the local events; brochures, online, talking to locals. Vimbly does all the work for you!! I definitely recommend visiting Vimbly before you visit a big city. I think you'll find activities you never even imagined!!

Easy Christmas Cardinal Ornament Tutorial

This is a surprisingly easy craft to make (once you've given needle felting a try). I'll show the basics of how to make it.....decorating it will be up to you and there are so many ways you can go about it.

What you need:

roving in various colors
styrofoam ball
needle felting tools

~First, take a good amount of the base color you want to have the ornament be. Then wrap the ball in it and tack the roving into place.
It should look like this.

~How you decorate it from there is up to you. I used some brown roving (you could also use brown yarn) and swirled it around the ball, adding some pine needles to it:

~Then I used red roving to make the shape of the cardinal, black around the birds face and an orangish reddish wool for the beak.

It's really fun!

If you would rather not go through the whole process of making one of these..... I could always make one for you! :-)

~Take some white wool roving and circle the tree with it, like lights.
~Felt the ball to the top.
