Fabric Flower Barrettes

(Don't forget to link up to my Marvelous Mess party!! Each week I pick on project to feature on my sidebar!!)

As a present for a little gal I know, I made some fabric flower barrettes. They are so fun and fancy....and easy to do!! I found a great tutorial on Simply Vintage Girl that totally guided me through the process of making the one you see above.

What you need to make these curly-q ones are synthetic silky fabrics. Real silk won't work, believe me, I tried. :-)
I also made some rosettes (and you can find a tutorial for those just about *everywhere*).....

And some basic stacked circles (made from the some of the silk I *couldn't* use). :-)
I shared this post at the usual funky blogs:

Sunny Seat Cat Bed for Danny

Danny is very thankful for my blog. It has provided me with two opportunities to give Danny some kitty presents. The first was the ShedMonster and, let me tell you.....we ALL appreciate that tool!! The second, and the one you see above.....is the Sunny Seat!! Danny is a big fan of this one as well. The sunny seat gives him some reprieve from Chloe and Buddy:
Who can be quite persistent. :-)

The sunny seat is the perfect place for him to perch, get some sun, and clickity clack at all the birds outside (Does YOUR cat do that??!!). The sunny seat installs instantly. It has four seriously large suction cups to help hold Danny's fairly meager weight.

Here is what I like about the Sunny Seat:
~A perfect perch for those height craving kitties.
~Keeps cats from sitting in less convenient places.

Here is what I didn't like:
~Only fits large windows ( 30" or wider)

And, you'll see this on the packaging, but I'll warn you of it anyway (because we encountered this issue)......make sure you wash and dry the window you're putting the Sunny Seat on. Ours wasn't as clean as it could be and the suction cups DID come off, luckily Danny was not in it. Kind of embarrassing really......I just don't clean my windows enough!! :-/

All in all I was quite happy with Sunny Seat. I love the picture above where you see multiple cats lounging around on all their seats.....I bet this seat would be super fun for a multiple cat household. And, it's a good deal on the product HERE.....Buy ONE get ONE FREE!!!! Plus, you get two laser cat toys (and, believe me, Dog's love em too!!) with the purchase.

Here are my fav's from last week:
Homemade Oreos from Captive Creativity. Um.....delicious??!!

Lily's Play Kitchen for under $100 from Utah Country. I love how it looks like a real kitchen, not covered in pinks/blues and checkered patterns like most kids kitchens. This one looks *real*. And, that is just the ticket!!!
Thrifted Fourth of July Decor from Something Created Everyday. Love the use of spools....it's vintage and crafty all at the same time. :-) Some great ideas for next years celebrations.
And, the post that I am going to feature on my sidebar for a week:
Cream Puffs from Red Door Kitchen. These look so scrumptious!!

For those ofyou that I featured in this post, congrats and be sure to grab a button!!

Danny vs the ShedMonster

Danny has a problem. He is a Fuzzy, Furry, Shedding hair onto everything, finding Danny hair in our foods kind-of-cat.
In enters the ShedMonster pet grooming tool:
He is no stranger to a good brushing. Unfortunately, I don't do it enough because it makes me so darn *itchy* and it takes so long!! Danny usually adores it. Any attention is good attention in his book. :-)

The ShedMonster is purported to reduce shedding by up to 90%!! It gets right to the undercoat and gets at the hair that it so hard to reach. It it supposed to de-shed, de-mat, and de-tangle.
My verdict?? This tool is everything we have been looking for!!!!
Watch this 1.5 minute video to see how much hair I get from combing Danny (in such a short time):

Imagine what it could do it 10 minutes!!

You can find the ShedMonster online HERE for only 19.99!! That includes a 5 piece Grooming Kit!!
I am totally impressed. Now that I've got two doggies as well, I am sure this tool will be a blessing.
You can find ShedMonster on FACEBOOK as well!!
