Mason Jar Snow Scene

I just had to try on of the mason jar snow globes I've been seeing on Pinterest and the rest of the blog world......

I happened to have some vintage mason jars and some polymer clay. I bought some bottle brush trees at A. C. Moore and some glitter snow. I shaped the clay to fit around the tree in the base of the mason jars  and then hardened it in that shape. I painted the glitter snow on the hardened clay and let it dry. Then I placed the tree (with glue on it) and the snow in the base of the jar and that was that. Easy peasy!!!!

I love the simplicity of it and the way the glass makes it shine.

Your Novel Romantic Giveaway!!

Want to spice up your Christmas a little?? This idea is totally fantastic. Buy yourself and your spouse/significant other a romance novel where the two of you play the starring roles!!

I love reading a decadent romance novel. And, I have totally put myself in the place of the leading lady. Haven't we all? That's why I think this book is so perfect, because not only I am starring but my husband is too!!

When given the option to review this book, I was asked several details about my life (and my spouses)  to make the story fit.  Then I got to choose the style of novel. You can pick out of several options including:
                                                Beaches-Cruises                    Abroad

                                                         Outdoors                        Historical

I chose the Historical romance....because what woman wouldn't want an adventure on the sea with her love in flouncy dresses in pirate costumes? You can choose a novel that is written is a style that's a little *wilder* or a little *milder*. I voted for the wilder. :-) These books come in paperback, hardcover, or ebook. If you order by December 16th you can get it in time for Christmas!!

I am truly a fan of this novel. It's provided us with a lot of laughs and, of course, romance.

Would you like to win one?

I'm going to be giving away a paperback of a personalized romance novel from Your Novel!!

This Contest will end on December 22nd at 11:59 EST

"A Lizards Tale" Review

Is anybody done with their Christmas shopping??
I'm totally jealous, if so. I am truly behind this year, mostly because I started a new job working as a librarian. Can you believe it?? I am thrilled with my new job. But, the downside is that I don't have the same kind of time I used to have with my family....let alone time to be out shopping. So, I was so pleased that I got a chance to review a book that could *double* as a Christmas present. By reviewing it, I am working (as a blogger) and getting Christmas presents at the same time.

Here's the book:

It's an adorable story about a little Anatole lizard named Biz. Told from the pets perspective,  this book helps to enlighten people of all ages to the life of a pet lizard. Biz explains where he came from and where he lives now, in a home with a family. It is an interesting story filled with fun facts about chameleons and the different adventures of Biz around the house that he lives in.

This book was written by Caroline and Andy Liebenow. For more information about their books click HERE.

As I am planning on gifting this to my Munchkin for Christmas, I can't give you my child's reaction to the story. I can take a very educated guess, however!! The four parts of this story that are mostly likely to intrigue the munchkin are:

1. A Book that can be colored!! That's pretty exciting stuff to be able to do to a book.
2. Funny anecdotes about the adventures of Biz (from the bee situation to staring at his reflection....this book contains some serious CA-UTE.
3. Simplistic drawings....sometimes overly ornate illustrations can overhwhelm.
4. Knowledge of an unusual animal that is told in an interesting way.

I am really excited to have the Munchkin read and color this fun book!! Be sure to check it out at Amazon HERE

I received a book in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own and written in my own words.

GUM Crayola Toothbrushes Review

Don't you just love Crayola? I have loved their products all my life. I was so *thrilled* to get a new box of crayons....with all the fun names. Heck, Mister Rogers had a section on how crayons on made on his show. Now, they have branched out so much more than basic crayons!! I've seen some really cool toys with that brand name out there. Like this Color Dome:
I want one of those for myself!!

Anywho, that's a bit of a tangent. I wanted to tell you about the toothbrushes I was sent to review. Crayola and GUM Brand have partnered together to make GUM Crayola Toothbrushes! . I have to say, I'm particularly fond of the red one in the middle picture above, the Crayola Timer Light Brush:

I found this collection of four brushes on Amazon. You can also find them right on the GUM site, with lots of info about the product and how it works HERE.

I like this one the best because it makes it a little more exciting to brush. The light blinks on the brush for 60 second intervals so your child is sure to do a really good job cleaning their teeth. I know my Munchkin has definitely gotten some good use out of it, which makes us all happy.

The other brushes I received are basic suction cup only brushes (love the handiness of the suction cups on the bases) and smiley face suction cup brushes as well as a power brush with soft bristles that oscillate to help massage the gums.

Overall, my opinion is this: Great products from a great company!! I am perfectly pleased with the toothbrushes and I will continue to buy the brand, because it has been around for a long time and I appreciate their products!!

ALSO......GUM Crayola is hosting a 12 days of GUM Holiday Giveaways!! Learn more about it HERE.
