A Marvelous Mess #40 and Features!!!

You guys are totally awesome. It was such a great collection of unique ideas this past week....holidays are totally inspiring!! I'll be pinning plenty of your ideas, no doubt.

Here are my fave's:
Wire Wrapped Tree Ornament from Lisa's Craft Blog. Love this in particular because I used a tree of life stamp on my wedding invitations about 10 years ago. :-)

Turkey Chalkboard from The Shady Porch. Caaaa-uuuute.

Faux Snowballs from Lella Boutique. That sign and the wire basket are just perfect with the craft!!

and the project I'm going to feature on my sidebar is........

All is Gravy from Freaking Craft
SOOOOOO funny. And now I've got the song stuck in my head. :-) Which is a good thing, cause it's a great song. Thanks Freaking Craft for making my night. If you want to hear the song (or if there's a chance you've never heard this Simon and Garfunkle song) check it out HERE. Aw, it's so good.

Brillance Diamonds

Have you ever looked at a ring and thought, that diamond is *gorgeous* but I wouldn't have chosen that setting?? Or perhaps you couldn't find a diamond you like at a store, because the choices were so few. Shopping at a diamond wholesale store like Brillance, rather than a Jewelry store, gives you so many more options in the style of diamond that you choose....with a hefty savings as well. At Brilliance .com you can shop for a loose wholesale certified diamond, wholesale diamond jewelry, or even an engagement ring. One of my favorite parts about the whole deal: No one is looking over your shoulder to try and convince you to buy something more expensive. Shopping at Brilliance is pressure free!!!!

How To Set A Table....

(To see that more of that centerpiece, click HERE)

Setting the table for a meal can be as simple....or as fancy....as you would like it to be. I've set some tables in my day, and I would not call myself anything of an expert. I'll impart my little bit of knowledge on you (a lot of it garnered from surfing the web over the past few years), if you are interested....

Formal Table Place Setting:

1. Fish Fork
2. Dinner Fork
3. Salad Fork
4. Salad knife
5. Dinner knife
6. Fish knife
7. Soup Spoon
8. Dinner Plate
9. Salad Plate
10. Napkin
11.Water Glass
12. Red Wine Glass
13. ? I guess I missed it. :-)
14. White Wine Glass
15. Dessert Spoon
16.  Dessert fork

If you're not having fish....well, just don't include the fish utensils.
It's important to have different glasses for Red and White wine. From what I understand, Red wine usually needs to breathe (oxidize) and the wider mouthed glasses/bases encourage more air flow (because there is more wine surface area) and help the red wine to smooth out a bit. White wine on the other hand usually needs only a little bit of oxidation, as too much can make it hard to detect the special qualities of the wine....so a smaller mouthed glass is important.

On to a more Informal Table Place Setting:
1. Salad fork
2. Dinner fork
3. Dinner Plate
4. Salad plate
5. Dinner knife
6. Spoon
7. Wine/Water Glass

Pretty Simple right?
Are you going to be hosting any of the special holidays this season?

A Marvelous Mess #39 and Features!!!

We've had a fire going in our antique cook stove the past couple of evenings....and just last night we all listened to Christmas songs while playing Yahtzee at the kitchen table. Just saying: it's that time of year. :-)

Here are my fave's from last weeks party:
Christmas Planner from Cookie and Claire. Yeah, that could totally be handy. :-)

Felt Mushroom Christmas Ornament from Craft All Things. AH_dorable.

Homemade Yogurt from Budget Saving Mom. What a cool....and surprisingly simple....way to save some moolah.

And the project I am going to feature on my sidebar is....

Modern Felt Fall Acorns from Owen's Olivia. Love the non-traditional colors she's got going on here. And, the silver caps are totally cute.

Thanks to all of you for linking up....if I featured you in this post, be sure and grab this button:

Tiny Prints Holiday Cards

Isn't that Holiday Card romantic? I love that it is an ornament as well. It's such a good idea!!!
Tiny Prints is a online baby announcement, business and greeting card company that offers a true variety of unique and exciting designs to suit your needs. I am particularly fond of their holiday designs....cute and classic, retro and modern....you can find it all.
After browsing around I found some fantastic options for Christmas cards:
White Christmas
Love this style. It's got a linoleum print feel to it.

Classy Wishes
Totally classy for sure. I really like the antique scrolling around the corners of the photo.

They also offer some cute address labels:
OH!!! It's chevron!! My crafty blogging heart just skipped a beat.
:-)
You should also check out their party invitation line....they made some really fun (and funky) ones for just about any occasion!!

Tiny Prints started out as a 3 person operation and turned into a very successful online company....yet, they have managed to make the experience of shopping their cozy and special. You know when you look at their cards that you're getting something unique....something that you're not going to see anywhere else. They have new designs come to their sites each week. Sites, you say? Yup. They not only have Tiny Prints, they also have the brands Wedding Paper Divas, Tiny Prints Greetings, and  Tiny Prints Business.

I definitely recommend check out Tiny Prints. They got so many fun options for you this holiday season!!

Oh, GNOME you didn't....

Can I just say I LURVE this tee shirt??  I couldn't stop giggling the first time I saw it. Something about SASSY and GNOME all in one funky top.
I chose the Oh Gnome You Didn't in the Cheap T-Shirts Section
of Crazy Dog T-Shirts. There are a couple of other Gnome Shirts there too:
Chillin with my Gnomies

Say Hello To My Little Friend
My tee is made of nice and sturdy (not flimsy) material. I have to admit,
I am more attracted to it's statement rather that it's material. :-)

All in all, super cute tees. And, I think they are totally fitting for the holidays!!
                                               Gnomes....Elves....really, what's the diff. :-)
Here's one more funny tee I found in the movie t-shirts section. It's totally R2D2:
LOVE it. My husband can make the R2D2 sound through his teeth. True Story.
